- Keep everyone away from the door. If your car is inside, leave it there. Off the track, you cannot count on what is holding the door up.
- Do not try to lift it back on. The cables and springs are still under tension.
- Take a photo and call. It helps us bring the right parts, and it is useful documentation if you file a claim.
How doors come off track
- Somebody backed into it. It happens more than people expect, and there is nothing unusual about it.
- A cable snapped or came off its drum, so one side dropped and the door twisted.
- The rollers wore out and finally let go.
- Something was in the way — a ladder, a bike, a trash can — and the door forced itself over it.
Repair, or a new door?
Bent track with straight panels is often a repair. Creased panels or a folded top section usually is not. Either way we will look at the hardware, the jamb and the panels before we tell you which one you are looking at, and we will give you the price for each option we can actually offer.
The price comes first.
You have probably heard the stories. Somebody advertises a $39 spring, shows up, and an hour later the bill is nine hundred dollars. That is not how this works here.
We look at the door, we tell you what is wrong, and you get the price before any repair starts. If the price does not work for you, we pack up and leave.
And if we find something after the work starts that changes the job or the price, we stop, show you what changed, and get your okay before we do anything more.

It looks fine, can I just push it back on?
Please do not. The cables and springs are still under tension, and a door that drops while you are working on it is heavy enough to do serious harm.
A car hit my garage door. Does insurance cover it?
That is between you and your insurer. Photos and a written estimate are usually what helps a claim along, and we can give you both.
Can the whole door be saved?
Often, especially if the opener was shut off quickly. That is exactly why we ask you to stop pressing the button.
